Honor Society has been invited to play at the 40th annual Earth Day anniversary festival in Washington DC. The festival takes place on Sunday, April 25 at the Climate Rally on the National Mall. The event will be streamed live from Earthday.org for those of us who cannot be there.

The 40th anniversary of Earth Day is quickly approaching, but the United States has failed to enact a comprehensive climate bill.
It is time to stop protecting polluters and enact comprehensive climate legislation that will create American jobs, cap carbon emissions and secure our nation’s future. The first Earth Day was a success because 20 million Americans demonstrated their outrage for the state of the environment. Together, we can make Earth Day 2010 a pivotal moment in the environmental movement.
On Sunday, April 25, Earth Day Network will organize a massive climate rally on The National Mall to demand Congress pass strong legislation. The Climate Rally will include notable speakers Reverend Jesse Jackson, film director, James Cameron, AFL-CIO President, Richard Trumka, Olympic gold medalist, Billy Demong, producer, Trudie Styler, author, Margaret Atwood, NFL player and television personality, Dhani Jones, environmental photographer Sebastian Copeland and many more.

April 15, 2010 (PRESS RELEASE) -- Pop rock band Honor Society returns to Chicago in their Here Comes Trouble Tour.

Hot off tours with Jordin Sparks, the Jonas Brothers and most recently with Grammy winning producer and singer Timbaland, and his Shock Value 2 Tour, Honor Society will be playing at the House of Blues at 6 pm on Friday, April 16. They are headlining their third tour supporting their debut album Fashionably Late which debuted at #18 on the Billboard Top 200 chart last fall. Honor Society's 30-city tour of the United States and Canada kicked off in St. Petersburg, Florida in March and includes stops in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Montreal, Boston, Milwaukee , Houston and New Orleans.

The Here Comes Trouble Tour comes after a break out year for Honor Society , that included a world tour opening up for the Jonas Brothers. In just the last few months, Honor Society has raised their profile with national appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live, NBC's The Today Show, CBS's The Early Show and in January 2010, Honor Society was invited to the 2010 Pro Bowl to sing the National Anthem.

"It was an incredible honor to perform at this year's Pro Bowl. We are die hard football fans so this was really a dream come true for us," said lead singer Michael Bruno.

In addition, Honor Society was asked to record a single for the Winter Olympic Soundtrack sponsored by AT&T, with a new song entitled "Can't Box Me In." The soundtrack features other artists including Mariah Carey, Sugarland, Train and Rascal Flatts. Coming up is a special appearance this month in Washington, DC on the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day . Honor Society will be performing along with Sting, John Legend, Jimmy Cliff, Joss Stone, Robert Randolph and Willie Colon at The Climate Rally on The National Mall in Washington, DC on Sunday, April 25. The Roots, Bob Weir, Patrick Stump, Mavis Staples, Passion Pit, Q-Tip and Booker T will also perform at the high profile event.

Named a breakout band to watch by Rolling Stone and identified as a Buzz-worthy band by MTV, Honor Society started with high school friends, Michael Bruno (lead singer/guitarist) and Jason Rosen (keyboards/guitar).Both had spent time during their years in Rockland County, New York playing in various bands but had always spoke of forming a group of their own one that would reflect their musical influences that ranged from Stevie Wonder to Prince to Kanye West. After graduating from college, Michael (NYU School of Music) and Jason (Berklee College of Music) connected with two self-taught and talented musicians, Andrew Lee (bass) and eventually Alexander Noyes (drums). It was with that final addition to the band that all the pieces fell into place and the group became Honor Society.

From the beginning, the four members of Honor Society were deeply involved with all aspects of their development - whether it was designing their MySpace page, booking shows, acting as their own street team or even developing the concept for their album art. Their commitment and attention to detail as well as a clear vision for the band, led Honor Society to become a hit on the local music scene.
In early 2008, Honor Society released what would become their break out song, "See U in the Dark", which became an instant hit with their fans. "That was the first song we recorded with Alex after he joined the group," says Andrew Lee. "Once we started the recording process, we knew right away that we were on to something with that song. All at once, the song summed up everything that Honor Society was about. It was the song that would define our sound and who we were."

After releasing A Tale of Risky Business, the band set out to promote the EP and launched into a house party tour. That tour would galvanize their fan base and lead the band to sold out shows at popular live music venues in the New York City area including the Knitting Factory. During this time, Alexander Noyes who happened to go to the same high school as Kevin Jonas gave their EP to Kevin. Soon after, the Jonas Brothers attended one of Honor Society's live shows and within weeks the two bands started working together in the studio forming an instant creative connection which led to Honor Society relocating to Los Angeles.

The band immediately began recording songs for their debut album with producer John Fields (Switchfoot, Jimmy Eat World) and the Jonas Brothers. In between recording songs, Honor Society hit the road with the Jonas Brothers opening up shows in Mexico City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Detroit. For a band that had played house parties months earlier, it was a monumental change of environment. "We had built a respectable fan base on MySpace and a lot of them were from outside the United States. But to walk out to the arena with 50,000 people, start playing music from our EP and have all those people singing the words you wrote&you just can't describe that feeling." says Michael Bruno.

Returning to Los Angeles, the band set out to finish their album. They laid down several more tracks including "Don't Close the Book." "It was one of the last songs we wrote before we left the East Coast," says Alexander Noyes. "It was really a simple song but it was so layered with meaning for our fans, families and friends." The ballad has become one of the most popular songs during their live shows.

Both "See U in the Dark" and "Don't Close the Book" would end up on the final version of their debut album along with the song that would spawn the name of their first headlining tour, "Full Moon Crazy." Written with Jonas Brothers' bass player, Greg Garbowski, the song spoke out against the drama that can come with nearly any relationship. Following those tracks came "Here Comes Trouble" which Jason Rosen describes as a favorite because it's a "funky hit with a true mix of rock and pop."
With 12 songs completed, the band began to put the finishing touches on the album and set out on tour with the Jonas Brothers to introduce their sound to the masses. They launched into an intense promotional push for the Jonas Brothers tour and even kicked off their own headlining Full Moon Crazy Tour, which consisted of after hour shows following the Jonas Brothers concerts at House of Blues type venues. At the same time they would also fill their days with in store appearances, impromptu mall performances, and taking every opportunity to get their music in front of new audiences.

Honor Society has become one of the hardest working bands in the business and they have no intention of stopping anytime soon. "It's hard to believe that a year ago, we were in New Jersey making a name for ourselves," says Bruno. "To have been able to finish our first album and create something that we believe is a true representation of where we have been and what we have become is an incredible feeling. We couldn't have done any of this without our fans believing in us from day one. We promise to keep working hard to give everything back to them."

Last night the Here Comes Trouble Tour featuring Ashlyne Huff, Just Kait, and Honor Society paid a visit to the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis, MN. As a whole, the show was fun and gave the 100+ fans a chance to see Honor Society up close as well as hear new music from two newcomers.

Ashlyne Huff kicked off the show with her pop-rock inspired tracks from her soon to be released self-titled EP. Her set opened with the anthemic song, Soapboxer and led into another strong number, Make It Rain. Unfortunately her drummer Jerry took a more sterile approach to the beat than the one found on her upcoming release. After the two upbeat tracks, Ashlyne slowed it down a little bit with Heartbeat before the highlight of her set, Sweet Nothing. Everything just came together with this radio friendly sounding track featuring some of AshlyneÕs best lyrics. Following the song she promoted the new NOW 33 compilation featuring her debut single, Heart Of GoldÉ but instead of going right into the track she performed two snippets from other artists first which proved to be a clever way to promote the CD. The set kept moving with her upbeat songs Comeback and TrippinÕ It Up, which featured some fun choreography with her backup singer Ely.

Next, Just Kait took to the stage and the show felt a lot like her vanilla flavored moniker. Her set featured many of her tracks, amped up with aggressive guitar and a heavy thumping double-kick. Musically her performance was adequate, but you couldnÕt help but wonder is she was 100%. However, her band definitely did their best to give some energy to the set. Not until the final minute did Kait step away from the microphone stand, and that was hop on the drums during the trash can finale at the end of her set.

Pros: Honor Society has definitely cranked it up a notch with their music.
Cons: DidnÕt perform their first single, Where Are You Now (which was also one of their strongest live songs). Merchandise table should be renamed ÔfleecingÕ table, prices are absurd. All that in addition to my laundry list of complaints I wonÕt revisit.

After a short set change, Honor Society took to the dark stage as their entrance music played. As the lights came up they played a quick rock flavored riff before heading into Rock With You. For fans, this was definitely a plus as this song wasnÕt played on their previous tour. Also, seeing the rhythm section laying down the funk was a treat. The fancy fretwork and slapping by Andrew on his Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones 5 string bass added a whole new dimension to the groups sound. As the song ended, they once again chopped through another rock riff into the crowd favorite, See U In The DarkÉ although it was interesting to see there was no reference of the Honor Roll. Following the track, Jason added some soft synth to accompany MichaelÕs dialogue before the group kicked into gear with Hear Comes Trouble. Once again the musicianship and tightness of the group shined on this track and the next track, Two Rebels. During the latter, several changes were noticeable, including variations with the keyboards, bass, in addition to the bridge being extended. After four energetic songs, they slowed it down with My Own Way. At the end of the song Alex and Andrew exited the stage, while Michael and Jason played a few of their favorite songs over the last year. The medley gave fans a chance to hear the vocals Michael showcased, even though Jason struggled with the backing vocals on Speechless. He made good though, with great lead vocal on Use Somebody. Alex and Andrew returned to help the two on their new track, When I Get Home. After the acoustic songs came to an end, the guys went back into high energy mode with Sing For You. Then it was DonÕt Close The Book with Ashlyne Huff and Just Kait joining Honor Society on stage to help out with the vocals. As the song was coming to an end they went right into Over You and the crowd erupted as they all knew their time to party with the guys was going to come to an end shortly. The fun continued right into Nobody Has To Know and Michael did a few moves to connect with the crowd. After a short break, Honor Society returned to the stage to perform an encore with Full Moon CrazyÉ and it was!

All in all it was a great show. Honor Society continues to be one of my favorite acts, although you canÕt help but wonder how much longer theyÕll survive with poor ticket sales in addition to several other forces working against them. To add to my concerns, at this time Honor Society has no plans to return to the studio and when asked about it Michael Bruno deflected the question by saying that Maroon 5Õs album, Songs About Jane was out for two years before they had a break. Keep in mind, that was in 2002 Ð the economics of the industry have changed radically in eight years. IÕm not saying Honor Society is over, but it might be wise to see them if you have the chance.

The band Honor Society’s latest tour stop was Minneapolis MN, last night, but before they performed for thousands of their eager fans, the guys spent their afternoon preparing rooms for the homeless at The Salvation Army Harbor Light Shelter. Michael, Jason, Andrew, and Alex met The Salvation Army staff and laid out and cleaned mats for the hundreds of men and women who would find shelter at Harbor Light that night.

The Salvation Army’s Harbor Light Center is a key source of help for those in need and provides emergency assistance, shelter, housing, chemical dependency treatment, transitional housing, health care services and spiritual support to its clients.

And offering a creative way for their fans to get involved, Honor Society invited concert goers and the general public to donate pillows at the Varsity Theater to help replenish Harbor Light’s low supply.

What's New:
Hope everyone is doing well!! We have a pretty busy week coming up... and we wanted to get you guys fully caught up on everything that has been happening on the 'Here Comes Trouble' Tour. So buckle up your situation and check this out.

We just finished our West Coast swing with really hot shows in Scottsdale, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Denver. In Scottsdale we visited the Martini Ranch, where we had played before on our 'Fashionably Late' Tour... and just like last time, the desert brought it!! We had a great time hanging out in Old Town and partying with y'all!!

From there we rolled to San Francisco, where we got to sing the National Anthem at a Giants game! It was super-super dope!! Barry Zito took the mound against the Oakland A's... and kind of got rocked... but, we definitely enjoyed rocking out at AT&T Park!! We saw a bunch of you guys in the stands. Thanks for coming out and supporting us! The next night, we were at the Great American Music Hall and it was one of the coolest venues that we have ever played! If you came out to that show, then you know what were talking about... a beautiful, ornate building... did I say beautiful? San Francisco was an awesome show, definitely one of the best of the tour.

The tour headed South from San Fran down to Los Angeles!! We had a BIG show over at Club Nokia at LA Live. We had DJ Michelle Pesce at the show spinning our favorite records before the show and there was a killer after-party that went down in the VIP lounge. Thanks to everyone that stayed around to hang with us!

We went straight from LA to Denver and got crazy at the Marquis Theater... which coincidentally has an incredible pizza parlor inside the club... INCREDIBLE pizza... I think we ate like 4 pies!!

Looking forward to Minneapolis, Chicago and Pittsburgh this week! Hope to see some of you out there!
